Mahjong Competition Rules ("Chinese Official"). My book came out this week, and I'm off to Copenhagen. With apologies to American mah-jongg readers, I must continue focusing on MCR. Scoring exercises. The final tile shown at right. Let's ignore flowers, but score for both self-pick and by discard.

1. All Pungs (6), two Terminal Pungs (2), One Voided Suit (1), No Honors (1). Two-way wait, exposed. If by self-pick: 13 (add 2 for Two Concealed Pungs). If by discard: 10.
2. Half Flush (6), Pung Terminal (1), Tile Hog (2). No Case Tile, since two of the 7Bs were concealed in the hand. If by self-pick: 10. If by discard: 9.
3. Lesser Honors and Knitted Tiles (12). If by self-pick: 16 (add 4 for Fully Concealed). If by discard: 12 (Concealed is implied).
4. Lesser Honors and Knitted Tiles (12), Knitted Straight (12). If by self-pick: 28 (add 4 for Fully Concealed). If by discard: 24 (Concealed is implied).
5. Half Flush (6), Pung Dragon (2), 2 Pungs of Terminals or Honors (2). Two-way wait, exposed. If by self-pick: 11. If by discard: 10.
6. Mixed Shifted Chows (6), All Chows (2), All Simples (2), Mixed Double Chow (1). If by self-pick: 12. If by discard: 11.
