The Last Day Of...
The Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) is easy to get to from anywhere in Hong Kong. The most picturesque way to get there is by Star Ferry from Kowloon.
The clock tower is a well-known landmark by the Star Ferry pier on the Kowloon side:
Below is a cruise liner (not the ferry, obviously). An interesting thing is that the time I was there was daytime, in January...
... and just before that, closer to Christmas, J.R. Fitch had passed through Hong Kong, and he'd taken a picture of the identical scene, only at night!
Thanks to J.R. for sharing that photo. I've never met him in person. Alan Kwan is one of just two internet mah-jongg friends that I've met in person so far.
It's never a very long wait for the ferry, and soon I was out in the harbour. You can already see the curved roof of the CEC.
After I got off the ferry and looked back at it, I noticed that it had been given a very colorful paint scheme. And off it goes again, taking passengers back to Kowloon.
